HOUSTON --Officials with the Houston School District say they hope to find a new principal for Wheatley High School very soon. The current principal, Wiley Johnson, submitted his resignation on Monday. Johnson says he will stay at the school until a replacement is hired.
His resignation comes after HISD Superintendent Dr. Terry Grier reassigned one of Wheatley's assistant principals. Dr. Grier has openly said the district has concerns about the academic performance of the school.
