TX A&M on alert for armed man near campus

COLLEGE STATION, TX Police say a man stabbed a 12-year-old girl at a McDonalds around 8:30pm near the university. Investigators say this man was eating inside the restaurant. But when he got up to leave, he stabbed the girl on his way out. That girl is now being treated at a hospital. She is currently listed as stable, and is expected to survive.

The man ran from the scene. Students are cautioned to be on the lookout for a white male with a knife wearing a black hoodie last seen near George Bush Drive at Wellborn.

"It was totally unprovoked, no known reason why he would have done that," said Rhonda Seaton with the College Station Police Department.

The first "Code Maroon" alert was issued Monday morning, when a woman was spotted walking around with a gun. Police caught her an hour later. They say she is a "person of interest" in a robbery at that same McDonalds.
