Galveston County fire officials say a 5-year-old boy lost his finger while playing with a dog. According to the Galveston County Daily News, the little boy was at a neighbor's house in Bacliff on Monday when the dog bit off his right hand ring finger.

The finger was found and taken to a Houston hospital so it can be reattached to the boy's hand. However, the boy's mother told Eyewitness News on Tuesday night that doctor's couldn't attach it.

Officials say Galveston County Animal Control now has the dog.
