Local high school football teams vie for state titles

Two local high school football teams are looking to bring state titles back home this weekend. Tonight, the La Marque Cougars travel to Cowboys Stadium to take on Aledo in the 4A Division II championship. The team is looking to snap Aledo's 28-game winning streak. Kickoff is at 8pm tonight. This will be La Marque's 10th appearance in a state championship game.

And tomorrow, the Pearland Oilers will make school history with their first trip to the state finals. The unbeaten Oilers take on Euless Trinity in the 5A Division I state championship.

The Oilers are looking for their first state title. Euless Trinity is looking for its second consecutive title. Kickoff is tomorrow night at 8 pm at Cowboys Stadium.

And we also want to mention Coldspring High School's football team will be playing for the 3A state championship today. The Trojans play the defending state champs, the Carthage Bulldogs today at 4pm at Cowboys Stadium.
