METRO to suspend rail lines this weekend

HOUSTON

The closure takes effect starting at 8pm Friday night and lasts until 11:59pm Sunday night. Construction crews are building a pedestrian bridge over Fannin Street to connect all of Texas Children's Hospital's facilities, so the rail has to be closed.

METRO will provide shuttle buses that parallel the rail lines both north and southbound.

Riders who normally board at the Memorial Hermann Hospital/Houston Zoo platforms or the Dryden/TMC platforms can find the shuttle busses on Main Street for travel north and southbound.

Passengers who catch the train at the Main Street Square platform can board the bus at Main and Walker if they're heading northbound or Main and Dallas if they need to head southbound.

METRO will have representatives on-hand to help patrons.

The agency also is suggesting customers allow extra time for their trips.
