Teen girl accused of sexually assaulting girl, 13

HOUSTON

Kistin Cordova was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 years of age after the young girl's mother reportedly discovered suspicious messages between her daughter and Cordova on Facebook and contacted the Pasadena Police Department, according to court documents. Pasadena detectives Cordova was an 18-year-old senior at Sam Rayburn High School when she had two sexual encounters with the girl in 2009.

The girl told detectives she met Cordova through mutual friends at a Pasadena skating rink and they exchanged numbers. The girl told detectives their first encounter was at her house when Cordova came to spend the night in August 2009. The second one allegedly occurred about three months later when the girl went to spend the night with Cordova at an apartment in Pasadena.

The girl's mother contacted police after she discovered correspondence about the second incident between the two on her daughter's Facebook page. Police tracked down Cordova's Facebook page and saw she had attended Rayburn High School. They took a photo off her profile and took it to the school, where a campus administrator identified the girl in the photo as Cordova.

The girl then was able to identify Cordova in a photo lineup.

Cordova's bond is set at $30,000.
