Teens charged with kidnapping, robbery

LA PORTE, TX On December 2, two suspects wearing ski masks and gloves entered a home in the 900 block of South 7th Street through an unlocked door. Once inside, according to the La Porte Police Department, the suspects confronted the lone 18-year-old resident and bound him while they removed property from the home. The suspects then took the keys to the victim's vehicle and forced the victim into the back seat of his own vehicle.

Police say the suspects drove the victim to an undisclosed location near Deer Park and dropped him off without further incident. Once free, the victim called police.

Within two days of the incident, Houston police officers encountered the stolen vehicle and took the driver into custody at the intersection of Shaver Street and North Broadway. La Porte detectives took custody of Manuel Antonio Ramos, 18. Ramos was charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery, with associated bonds of $30,000 for each offense, through the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

On Wednesday, the second suspect was located and arrested. Johnny Alexander Garcia, 18, was charged with aggravated kidnapping and robbery. Garcia was assigned bond amounts of $30,000 and $20,000, respectively.

Both Ramos and Garcia are charged in the 184th District Court and currently await trial.
