All day today many Houston restaurants are taking part in what's being called America's Night Out for Gulf Seafood. The event is to show seafood from the Gulf is safe to eat. The BP oil spill seven months ago hurt the seafood industry, but fishermen and restaurants alike say the food is safe to eat, as well as delicious.

More than 150 restaurants across the country will serve Gulf seafood today as part of the event.

Some of the local restaurants participating include Brennan's and Babin's Seafood House.
