Man fatally shot after attempted break-in

HOUSTON It happened overnight at a house on Westleigh at Westhorpe. Police say a homeowner got into a fight with a distant relative who had been invited over for Thanksgiving. Things got heated and the man was physically forced to leave.

Investigators believe he then tried to break into the house by smashing a window.

Police say that's when the homeowner got out his gun and fired a shot. The man died on the door step.

No charges have been filed so far.
