Virgin America could soon fly into Houston

HOUSTON A spokesperson for the Virgin America airline says Houston has been and remains on the list of prospective cities it's considering in 2011.

Media outlets are reporting that Virgin America plans to add flights to Houston as well as Chicago, Atlanta and Philadelphia next year if it can secure gates in those cities.

A Houston Airport System spokesperson said they have had a dialogue with Virgin America. HAS did not give specifics on the number of gates or exact timetables on when VA might be in Houston.

Virgin America will start flying to Dallas-Fort Worth next month.
