An apparent attempted burglary ended with one teenager shot overnight. According to the Houston Police Department, the teen and four other people broke into an audio store in north Houston. When officers arrived, they say the group was in the process of carrying items out of the store. One officer shot and wounded a teen, who he says had his hand on his waistband.

"The officers who believed they were armed based on the description they'd been given a short time before, obviously felt this was a very serious situation," said HPD spokesman Kese Smith.

The officers also shot at the suspected getaway car and arrested the man behind the wheel. No officers were hurt.
