A 15-year-old girl was killed and three others hurt after their vehicle collided with an officer's patrol car in southeast Houston. It happened around 8:30am Sunday on Bellfort near Sandhurst.

Police say the officer was responding to a call when another car ran a stop sign.

The officer crashed into the side of the other car sending both vehicles into a grassy median.

The 15-year-old girl died at the scene. A 10-year-old girl, 16-year-old boy and one man were all taken to the hospital.

"Five occupants of the silver Saturn, three occupants were taken to various hospitals with non life-threatening injuries," HPD spokesman Kese Smith said. "The driver has fled the scene and a female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The officer was not injured."

Police say they know who the driver is and are still looking for him at this hour.
