The Dallas Morning News reported Saturday that the body has not been identified, but that Henderson County Sheriff Ray Nutt says the search for 69-year-old B. Gill Clements has been paused pending identification by the medical examiner.
The body was found on the property of Howard Todd Granger, a 46-year-old neighbor of B. Gill Clements. Police shot Granger dead Friday afternoon while trying to serve a search warrant at his home.
Nutt says Granger confronted authorities with an AK-47 rifle, fired on an armored vehicle and was killed in a shootout.
Clements was reported missing Thursday night.
