A father is dead after being gunned down at a car wash in southwest Houston last night. It happened around 9:45pm at the car wash on Alder near Bissonnet. A police officer responding to an accident at an apartment complex nearby actually heard the gunfire and responded moments after the shooting. The officer saw two vehicles speeding from the scene. As the officer approached, he found the victim, who was shot in the chest.

"We don't have any eyewitnesses that saw the shooting, but we'll be talking to some businesses that hopefully got it on camera," said Sgt. Robert Torres with the Houston Police Department.

Investigators say the victim, who's been identified as Inocencio Martinez-Solis, was known to carry large amounts of cash. They say Martinez-Solis, 36, just been to a check cashing business and he may have been followed by the suspect or suspects to the car wash. His wallet was missing when police found him.

Investigators say Martinez-Solis' wife is pregnant and the couple had a one-year-old child as well.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with a large build, 42 to 45 years old. Investigators believe the gunman was driving a white Nissan Frontier four-door SUV, 2005-2008 model year. There was also a dark, four-door sedan leaving the scene in the moments following the shooting.
