Four bank robbery suspects captured in SW Houston

HOUSTON

Police say at around 9:45am, they got a holdup/panic alarm at a First Convenience Bank on Gessner. Police say there were no shots fired at the bank, and no reports of injuries.

After the four suspects left the bank, police say an officer in the area chased them to the Sovereign Townhomes complex on United Drive. The suspects fled from the vehicle. Authorities swarmed the complex.

The search had Collins Elementary School in the Alief ISD on lockdown as a precaution for nearly two hours as police searched the neighborhood around the school in southwest Houston for the bank robbery suspects.

One of the suspects was caught by police on the playground of Collins Elementary. Two others were found hiding in an apartment unit, where two residents were inside. Those two residents, who didn't know the robbers, were unhurt.

The final suspect was found hiding in a shed at the complex and was also arrested. SkyEye HD was over the scene and showed footage of the suspect in handcuffs.
