Fire breaks out near Lovett Elementary School

A fire broke out at a construction site next to Lovett Elementary School and firefighters worked quickly to put it out.

Firefighters worked quickly to put out a fire near Lovett Elementary School on Houston's southwest side. It broke out just after 9am on South Rice at Jason. The flames erupted from stacks of panels in a construction zone next to the campus. The students were evacuated from the building, but have since returned to the classroom. No injuries were reported.

It's unknown what caused the fire.
