Some Pearland ISD schools may have larger classrooms

PEARLAND, TX According to the Pearland Journal, the new student to teacher ratio will expand to 23-to-1 by next year. At least seven schools will feel the impact of larger classrooms.

District officials say the change is necessary to save money. But before the district can pack more kids in the classroom, it must receive a waiver from the Texas Education Agency.
