A fire at the Whole Foods Market in the Upper Kirby area sent shoppers rushing out of the store Tuesday afternoon. It happened at the store on W. Alabama and Kirby. The fire started on a second floor balcony. An eyewitness told us she was checking out when she saw fast moving flames by hay on a Halloween display.

The eyewitness said an officer told everyone to get out of store then she heard glass cracking and a fire alarm went off.

Everyone made it out of the store and no one got hurt. Fire crews quickly put out the fire.

A representative for Whole Foods said the store will reopen at 5pm.
