A long time tradition is now in full swing in Pasadena. It's the 61st annual Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo. Children from all over the area are showing their animals in hopes of winning the coveted grand champion ribbon and belt buckle. For the kids, it's a chance to show off a year's worth of hard work.

"It really teaches you a lot about the animals," said Pasadena Memorial High School student Chelsea Derr. "Also, you really get a lot of friendships that stay with you a long time. You've got a lot of people supporting you."

The Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo will give out an estimated $40,000 in scholarships this year. The events start at 7pm every night, and runs until this weekend.
