SPCA welcomes 40 dogs from Louisiana shelters

HOUSTON The agency says the dogs were part of an ongoing program to help them find new homes after the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico caused many to be left homeless. They assisted the Louisiana SPCA with a transport of 40 dogs left homeless due to the tragedy.

Through Sunday, October 3, "Barktoberfest" is in full effect at the SPCA. All canines 6 months or older and 30 pounds or more will be half off the normal adoption fee. Learn more about Barktoberfest by logging onto www.houstonspca.org.
