Two international space station crew members took time away from conducting experiments to speak to hundreds of Parker Elementary, Johnston Middle and Westbury High School students. A few of the children asked questions on topics ranging from how the crew deals with emergencies in space to their most memorable moments.

"What has been the most exhilarating experience in space thus far?" asked Westbury High School freshman Brianne Jennings.

"Living on the space station is great," answered NASA Astronaut Shannon Walker. "It's very interesting. Every day brings something new, but for just sheer excitement, the launch was it. And I suspect the landing going home is gonna be the same way."

The children also wanted the NASA astronauts to give them advice on how to become astronauts themselves. Wheelock said not to fear science and that science and engineering are about solving problems and discovering new things.
