No new trial for Houston man accused of raping boy

Lawrence Napper, 51, is in prison for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a six-year-old boy in 2001. Last year, a state district court judge recommended Napper get a new trial because HPD's crime lab destroyed all potentially useful DNA evidence in his case.

But in its ruling, the appeals court found there was strong evidence to convict Napper despite problems with the crime lab.
