Ex-deputy in dog scent controversy acquitted on charges

A man convicted for a murder in Coldspring has been acquitted all over a scent identification by three dogs. We've told you several times about former Fort Bend County Sheriff's Deputy Keith Pickett. His dogs that made scent identifications have led to lawsuits by men who claim they were wrongfully jailed.

Richard Winfrey's scent was found on a murder scene in 2004. But, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals ruled the evidence was not legally sufficient to convict him.
