Baytown encouraging voters to vote early

September 17, 2010 1:10:10 PM PDT
The city of Baytown is urging voters to vote early through the use of paper ballots or by appearing in person. The suggestion follows last month's fire at the Harris County elections department warehouse, which destroyed 10,000 pieces of voting equipment. Harris County is working with other counties and cities to collect voting equipment before the November elections.

Harris Country residents should call 713-755-6965 or visit www.harrisvotes.org to apply. Chambers County residents can call 409-267-8309.

Ballot applications must be mailed to Harris County, Early Voting Clerk, P. O. Box 1525, Houston, Texas 77251-1525 or to Chambers County, Early Voting Clerk, P.O. Box 728, Anahuac, TX 77514.

Completed applications must be received by the end of the day, October 26.
