Motorcyclist killed in Gulf Freeway accident

HOUSTON It happened in the 12800 block of the Gulf Freeway about 9:15pm on Thursday.

Police say the driver of a green Lexus SUV was traveling south on the Gulf Freeway when the victim, who was operating a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and also traveling south, made an unsafe lane change in front of the Lexus. The Lexus then struck the motorcycle from behind and the victim lost control. He died at the scene. The driver of the Lexus was not injured.

The identity of the male victim, 56, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
