Harris County man makes Texas' 10 Most Wanted list

HOUSTON Authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety added 30-year-old Jarvier Cortez on the list at the request of Houston Police Department.

Cortez is accused of shooting a man in the head, leg and abdomen on April 8. He has a violent criminal history and is allegedly an affiliate of the Houston Tango Blast gang.

His last known address was in Pasadena and was last seen driving a 1996 Chevrolet Impala with Texas license plate 210 YDL.

Cortez now joins the ranks of these other Texas fugitives:
  • Richard Zuniga, 30, last known address: San Elizario-El Paso County. Wanted on charges of capital murder in El Paso in 2009 and has been a fugitive since then. His criminal history includes aggravated assault with a gun and drug possession. He is a known gang affiliate.
  • Jose H. Morales, 47, last known address: San Antonio. Wanted on charges of failure to register as a sex offender. His criminal history includes sexual assault, possession of marijuana, assault, burglary and unlawfully carrying a weapon. He is a known gang affiliate.
  • Robert Barrera Jr., 27, last known address: Austin. Wanted on charges of obstructing police, escape and burglary of a habitation.
  • George Felix Deleon, 40, last known address: El Paso. Wanted on charges of parole violation. Deleon's criminal history includes convictions for arson, aggravated assault and homicide.
  • Gwen Komahcheet, 59, last known address: Spring. Wanted on charges of aggravated rape with a deadly weapon and failure to register as a sex offender.
  • Gaspar E. Loya III, 36, last known address: Weslaco. Wanted on charges of indecency with a child, burglary, failure to register as a sex offender, escape and unlawful flight.
  • Rene Morales Munoz, 42, last known address: Laredo. Wanted on charges of homicide, probation violations and possession of cocaine.
  • Leeroy Suarez, 27, last known address: New Braunfels. Wanted on charges of homicide, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful flight.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Cortez or any of the other suspects is encouraged to contact the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-252-8477 or text the letters "DPS" followed by your tip to 274637. Crime Stoppers offers up to $5,000 for information that helps authorities catch the suspects.
