Woman charged with murder for running over husband

HOUSTON April Holmes and her husband Donald Holmes separated some time ago, but in the early hours of Tuesday morning, police say April Holmes and her husband got into an argument in a neighborhood on Balarama and Beckford in southwest Houston. At least two witnesses say she ran over him multiple times and it was not an accident.

Investigators say they found the car in the middle of the street with April Holmes still behind the wheel. She was immediately taken into custody and is charged with murder.

Donald Holmes died on the way to the hospital.

The court appointed an attorney for her today.

If convicted, April Holmes could face anywhere from five to 99 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
