Beer lovers are enjoying a special holiday treat. Galveston's Moody Gardens is hosting the first ever Brewmasters International Beer Festival Saturday.

Folks will be able to taste test more than 300 foreign, domestic and Texas beers.

The best part is that admission is free. However, event-goers are asked to donate canned goods or money to the Galveston Food Bank.

Organizers say they expect a lot of people to show up this weekend.

"I've had more website inquiries to me about the event than I have in nine years of doing wine events," festival organizer Clifton McDerby said.

While admission is free, you will need to pay for beer and food.

You are urged to bring along a designated driver if you plan to drink during the beer festival.
