Authorities are searching for two suspects trying to carjack drivers in parking lots of stores in La Marque and Friendswood. Both violent robberies occurred within hours apart on Wednesday.

A 56-year-old woman in the parking lot of a La Marque superstore in the 6000 block of Interstate 45 told police that a man attacked her during an attempted carjacking. But the woman, who's a concealed handgun license owner, pulled out her pistol and pointed it at her attacker, scaring him away.

The man jumped into a car being driven by another suspect, and the woman fired several bullets at the back of their getaway car.

Hours earlier, Houston police were dispatched to another store's parking lot, where a similar incident had occurred.

Authorities say similar descriptions of the suspects and their getaway vehicle were provided during both attacks.

The carjacking suspect is described as a Hispanic male, appearing to be in his mid to late 20's with short, dark hair. He is between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 9 inches and has a slightly heavy build. No description was provided for thesecond suspect.

Their getaway vehicle is described as a newer model silver or gray SUV bearing Texas license plates NMG 714 and is possibly a Nissan. Police also believe the SUV's back hatch area should have at least one bullet hole.

Anyone who recognizes the actor or vehicle description is urged to contact La Marque Crime Stoppers at 409-938-8477. A cash reward up to $1,000.00 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible in this case.
