Furniture Bank charity helping local families in need

HOUSTON The Furniture Bank's motto is "making empty houses homes," and they are getting a helping hand from ABC13's Melanie Lawson and hundreds of generous Houstonians who commissioned art chairs to be sold this weekend at the GRB Convention Center.

The chairs are wacky to whimsical, and each has its own story. The Furniture Bank gives gently used items to a thousand needy families every year and all proceeds from the chair auction go right back to the charity.
