Dog bites firefighter working blaze in NW Houston

In northwest Houston, a firefighter was bitten by a dog while tried to stop the flames from spreading through the Westway Village Apartments. Around 1:30am Saturday morning, crews were called to the 24-unit building on West Sam Houston Parkway at Hammerly. Four units burned to the ground and two units have extensive water and smoke damage.

The firefighter was treated for the bite at the scene and is expected to be OK.
