A portion of the Eastex Freeway is scheduled for closure for most of the weekend. Between 5am and midnight on Saturday and Sunday, crews will close both directions of Highway 59 North from Aldine Bender to Greens Road, and drivers will be detoured to the frontage road. Highway officials say they need to hang new bridge beams.

Drivers traveling northbound on Highway 59 toward Beltway 8 westbound will be detoured to frontage road until Greens Road, where they'll have to make a U-turn to get on the highway's southbound lanes to get to the Sam Houston Tollway.

Motorists heading southbound on the Eastex Freeway will be detoured to the frontage road, where they can take Beltway 8 westbound.

Drivers traveling eastbound on the Sam Houston Tollway toward Highway 59 North must take the US 59 southbound frontage road to Aldine Bender, where they can U-turn to the US 59 northbound frontage road and get back on Beltway 8.

Motorists heading westbound on the tollway's frontage road will be detoured to the US 59 northbound frontage road to Greens Road; from there, they can U-turn to the US 59 southbound frontage road and get back to Beltway 8.

Local law enforcement will provide traffic control to facilitate movement for the detour along the frontage roads.
