HOUSTON --The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum has opened an exhibit to commemorate the upcoming anniversary of the deadly Camp Logan riot. The museum has put on display Camp Logan artifacts on loan from local historian Robbie Morin. On August 23, 1917, a black Army corporal tried to stop the beating of a black woman by a police officer and police started beating the corporal. A riot followed, involving 100 black soldiers and dozens of police officers. Seventeen people died in the riot.
