Alvarado is accused of robbing and killing Shatavia Anderson, and Williams claimed Anderson was his cousin. The jail doesn't know if the two are really related. Alvarado has been moved to another building.
Man accused of murdering girl attacked in jail
HOUSTON
According to the sheriff's office, Melvin Alvarado was in a common area Thursday when fellow inmate Robert Williams attacked. Alvarado suffered minor injuries to his head before a guard pulled Williams away.
