Family and friends said goodbye to 14-year-old Shatavia Anderson, who was murdered last weekend. As they prepare to honor her life, outrage over how she died is growing. Yesterday, family members gathered at the spot where the teenager's body was found. Anderson's body was discovered early last Saturday morning. She was only yards away from home.

Houston police say Melvin Alvarado shot Anderson, and that Jonathan Lopez Torres was the getaway driver. Both are facing charges.

According to immigration officials, Alvarado is in the U.S. illegally from El Salvador and has twice been deported. Anderson's uncle is furious about the situation.

"What you're doing is giving them a green light, telling them you can come over here and do what you want. We can kill anyone we want," said the victim's uncle Joe Lambert. "They aren't going to do anything but keep us here a little while and then send us back.," said the victim's uncle Joe Lambert.

ICE says Lopez Torres is a legal resident from Honduras.

The funeral for Shatavia Anderson was held this morning at Canaan Baptist Church on Lockwood. She was laid to rest at Paradise Cemetery on the north side.
