Mother, son die in fire in Montgomery Co.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX The victims were trapped in a burning mobile home on Goode City Lane near Highway 105 in the Cleveland area.

Emergency responders got the 911 call last night at about 11:30pm. When fire crews arrived, the mobile home was fully engulfed. The fire broke out in such a rural area that fire crews had to truck in water.

After knocking down the flames, crews were able finally to go inside. They found 41-year-old Serena Marie Dunn and her son, 11-year-old Dylan Lula. They were both dead inside.

Dustin Dunn, 14, was somehow able to escape. He's being treated for burns and lacerations to his eyes. His aunt says he was briefly able to describe what he endured.

"He said he was almost ready to give up, until he saw a light shining through the curtain from the neighbor's trailer," said Dustin's aunt, Phyllis Tuttle. "He busted the window out. It took about three to four good blows and then he crawled through the window and to the neighbor's house."

Dunn is now at Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he is listed in fair condition. The family tells us this was an old mobile home and they've had electrical problems with it recently.

Authorities do not yet know what caused the fire. There were no working smoke detectors inside the home.
