Police: group of burglary suspects caught in act

FRIENDSWOOD, TX The woman had just left a gym in the 100 block of West Parkwood Thursday afternoon when she saw two men inside her car, according to a Friendswood Police Department statement. The woman immediately called police with a description of the suspects and their getaway car.

Within a minute and a half, police had intercepted the suspects' vehicle near the intersection of FM 528 and West Bay Area Boulevard.

The woman identified two of the three men inside the vehicle as the suspects she spotted in her car. Police believe the third man, who had binoculars with him, served as the lookout for the group.

During the investigation, detectives learned that a fourth suspect was involved and they arrested him at a fast food restaurant near the gym.

All four men were arrested on felony charges.

Tom Nguyen, 26, of Pflugerville, Javier Alvarez, 28, of Austin, and Equity Do, 31, of Houston were each charged with two counts of misdemeanor Theft, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a felony. Each is held on bonds totaling $7,500.

The fourth suspect, 23-year-old David Le, of Austin, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor Theft and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. His bond is set at $6,000.

All the suspects, except Do, have a criminal history.

Police said they have received several reports of afternoon car burglaries in that area within the past week. However, investigators have yet to determine if these suspects are connected to these burglaries.
