Baytown police are searching for two men who shot a tattoo artist while robbing him of his equipment. Just before midnight Wednesday, police were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 4600 block of Village Lane in reference to a shooting, according to a Baytown Police Department statement.

When they arrived, they found a 42-year-old man shot once in his shoulder. The man told police he was at the apartment complex to finish someone's tattoo when he was confronted by two men. The man said he didn't get a good look at the suspect who shot him but said that about $8,000 worth of tattoo equipment was taken during the robbery.

Both suspects were described only as black men. At least one of them is believed to have fled in a white Ford Crown Victoria.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact the Baytown Police Department at 281-422-8371 or Crime Stoppers at 281-427-8477.
