League City police have arrested two men they believe are responsible for aggravated robberies. On Wednesday, July 28 at about 2:20pm, the League City Police Department received a report of an aggravated robbery at the Associated Credit Union located at 351 S. Egret Bay Blvd. Officers responded to the scene and were informed that a Hispanic male in his early twenties had entered the bank, displayed a handgun, handed a note to a teller, and exited the bank after receiving several thousand dollars in cash.

According to League City police, he was last seen leaving the area on a bicycle towards the Huntcliff Apartments that are located across St. Christopher Ave. behind the credit union. After an extensive search of the area the suspect could not be located.

On Friday, July 30, League City detectives received a Crime Stoppers tip. From this tip two persons of interest were identified in this case as well as two other aggravated robberies in Pearland and Alvin. While working in conjunction with Pearland police, Alvin police and the FBI, the lead was followed and resulted in the arrests of Cruz Moreno, 24, and Blake Nicholas, 23.

A $100,000 bond was placed on each suspect. Currently Moreno is in the League City jail and Nicholas is in the Galveston County jail. This is still an ongoing investigation and other persons of interest are being pursued.
