A fugitive who spent the past year on the run after a violent Easter Sunday attack is now in custody. A Crime Stoppers tip led U.S. Marshals to Miguel Morales Wednesday afternoon at his mother's home in northwest Harris County. Officers say Morales forced his way inside the home of his ex-girlfriend on Easter Sunday in 2009 then stabbed her boyfriend eight times, killing him.

Morales told the marshals he spent the past year in cities around Texas and just recently returned to the Houston area.
