Driver dies after crashing into METRO bus

HOUSTON At around 8am, police were called to investigate an accident involving a METRO bus and another vehicle on the feeder road of the Southwest Freeway near Hillcroft. Minimal damage is visible on the bus.

According to Raquael Roberts with METRO, the bus was parked and empty at the time - there were no passengers and the driver was on a break. A car came off the main lanes of the freeway, across the median grass and the feeder road, striking the back of the bus.

A METRO spokesperson told us the female driver was apparently suffering a medical emergency when she pulled off the freeway. The driver suffered serious bodily injury and later died. Her identity has not been released.

The northbound feeder lanes were completely shut down during the police investigation.
