GALVESTON, TX
The district has announced a long list of changes to start and end times for school days during the 2010-2011 school year. Elementary schools to start 15 minutes earlier, and high schools are being extended by a half-hour.
Officials with the district say the changes will help bus schedules run more smoothly.
The complete list of changes are as follows:

Elementary schools, excluding KIPP: 7:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m.

Crenshaw Elementary and Middle School: 7:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m.

KIPP Coastal Village: 7:45 a.m. (all grades)
Pre-K dismissal: 3:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday)
K-2nd and 5th Grades: 5:00 p.m. (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)
3:45 p.m. (Wednesday and Friday) -
Austin Middle School: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Central Middle School (Grades 7 and 8): 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Weis Middle School (Grades 5 and 6): 7:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m.

Galveston Early College High School: 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

AIM College and Career Preparatory: 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Ball High: 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
To accommodate the new schedules, the 21st Century/After-School Centers on Education will open earlier. The new morning program times are as follows:

Ball High: 7:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m.

Weis: 6:45 a.m.-7:30 a.m.

Central Middle School: 7:00 a.m.-8:30 a.m.

Austin Middle School: 7:00 a.m.-8:30 a.m.

Elementary schools: 6:45 a.m.-7:30 a.m.
Bus schedules for the upcoming school year will be announced in August.
