Two dead skunks carrying the rabies virus were found in Fort Bend County. According to a report from Fort Bend.com, animal control workers say one of the rabid skunks was found near Beasley and the other in Needville. Rabies is a disease that attacks the central nervous system and is typically contracted through a bite by an infected mammal.

This comes as Waller County just reported its first rabies case in a dog in more than 20 years.
