An autopsy will be performed to see whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
Driver dies after losing control, slamming into ditch
HOUSTON
It happened shortly after midnight Wednesday in southeast Harris County. Detectives say the woman was speeding down Bay Area Blvd. near Choate, possibly as fast as 100 miles per hour. She lost control of the vehicle, entered a ditch and struck a concrete culvert. The impact caused the SUV to flip and come to rest on its roof against the culvert.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and she was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female did not have any identification on her.
