Rotting meat removed outside bar in battle with condo

HOUSTON A Haz-mat company Friday removed rotting meat that someone dumped between the 2520 Robinhood condominiums and Hans Bier Haus. The meat was dumped there after the county renewed the bar's liquor license.

Bar workers put calcium hydroxide, or lime, on the meat to cover the odor, and the people at the condos hired a company to remove it.

"It's a corrosive and it could be toxic also. If it gets on the skin it could burn. It carries of pH of 14 to 16 so that's definitely caustic. It could burn you," said Bernard Nelson Legacy Environmental.

The bar owners and condos residents are still fighting in court over noise and vandalism.
