Body of missing woman found in Lake Conroe

CONROE, TX Augusta Newmeyer, 23, was with a group of friends on a party barge when she jumped off and tried to swim to shore on the northwest corner of the lake near Bentwater Drive and Bentwater Island. Some of the other guests told the boat operator that the Rosenberg woman had jumped into the water. He called authorities.

She hadn't been seen since then and authorities had been searching for her the last two days.

Investigators say early Wednesday morning they found remains they are consistent with the description of Newmeyer.
