Authorities have arrested a man in the alleged beating and robbery of a gay Houston Community College student. Terrance Calhoun, 22, is charged with aggravated robbery in the attack on Lance Reyna, a student. Reyna alleges he was attacked by Calhoun in an HCC bathroom at knifepoint.

Reyna believes he was beaten and robbed because of the way he looks. We're told Calhoun was not charged with a hate crime because it would not have enhanced the range of his punishment. He is currently in custody.

Calhoun has a prior conviction on a drug possession in 2007.
