Child dies in weather-related wreck on Gulf Freeway

HOUSTON It happened just before noon along the Gulf Freeway near Edgebrook. Houston police say the vehicle hydroplaned, hit the guard rail and turned onto its right side, before sliding along the freeway.

The Houston Fire Department responded and said a child who was in one of the cars involved in the wreck was transported to a hospital with CPR in progress.

We're told the child later died at the hospital.
