Houston police are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of an Illinois man in east Houston. One suspect has been arrested and one is still on the run in the death of Andrew Stewart, 29, of Illinois, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the 7000 block of Tuck shortly before 6pm on April 11.

The wanted suspect, Ronald Ray Charles, 28, is charged with capital murder. A second suspect, Rosendo Diaz, 28, is in custody and also charged with capital murder.

Police say Stewart had driven from Springfield, Illinois, to Houston in order to purchase narcotics from Charles and Diaz. When he arrived at the location, an argument ensued and both suspects shot Stewart and then robbed him.

Further investigation led to the identification of the suspects as Diaz and Charles. Diaz was arrested on May 7 and remains in the Harris County Jail.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ronald Ray Charles is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
