Jury selection for mom accused in daughter's death

HOUSTON Jury selection was scheduled Monday in the Houston trial of Abigail Young. Prosecutors say she failed to prevent injuries that led to last June's death of 4-year-old Emma Thompson, who suffered a fractured skull.

A doctor, weeks before Emma died, diagnosed the child with genital herpes and notified CPS. A CPS investigator found no signs of sexual abuse. The girl was not removed from the home.

Young is charged with injury to a child by omission. Her boyfriend, Lucas Coe, faces trial later on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
